Elizabeth Eakins

I think Elizabeth Eakins does a fresh take on rugs and and fabrics that would be perfect for any coastal home. Take a look at her offerings. If only I was in Connecticut for her tent sale!

Setting the Coastal Style with Antiques

I am helping a friend make selections for a her family's dream home "The River House". We have made most of the selections for the kitchen but I can't help but jump ahead a little to think of some of the decorating accessories. 1st Dibs is a great resource to find some unique pieces that will add layers of character to new construction for a more lived in look. I would love to put some of these oyster sticks in a corner. Maybe some vintage bathing suits would be fun wall art too.

River House Kitchen

My friend and I spent time at Ferguson and made selections for her Riverhouse. Here are some of selections for the kitchen. This sink is amazing in person.

Throw Blankets

Jonathan Adler really knows how to feed a girl's obsession with customizing and monogramming. On his website, you can easily design your own monogrammed throw to match your color scheme. Don't even get me started on designing the rugs. I could play all day on his website. Here's my design - but a little to steep for my budget at $250.

Jonathan Adler's Richard Nixon throw's are beautiful and come in a ton of colors.

If that is not in your budget, here is a great ikat throw blanket that would surely jazz up any sofa.

Coco Cozy also makes a nice version of a geometric blanket in a wide array of colors.

Fig Trees

My husband groans every time I drag in a new houseplant destined for a slow painful death. "Why do I do this to these poor innocent plants?" he asks.  He believes that I single handedly put a stop to Home Depot's one year guarantee on indoor plants because they were losing money on me. (ha ha)

Regardless, every few months I have a renewed optimism that this time it will be different. This time I will be able to keep my new purchase alive and healthy. My next victim... a Fig Tree. I just love the huge leaves - it's the modern version of the ficus.

Perfect Coastal Kitchen

There is nothing like a clean white kitchen. The detailed work of Tiek Built Homes is truly evident. These are some of my "someday" kitchen ideas.

And wouldn't you just love coming home to this front cheerful front door everyday?!

Sherwood Forest Love

After visiting the neighborhood of Sherwood Forest in Annapolis just once, I was in love. All of the houses have a quaint, cottage feel (no matter the size) and many with breath taking views of the Severn River. The neighborhood feels like you have stepped into the set of Dirty Dancing as homeowners zip to the golf and tennis courses, country store, beach or pool on their golf carts. The houses are nestled into dramatic hilly landscape and interestingly can only be painted one of 3 colors - according to their section.

Here is one house up for sale for a mere $2.6 million that I would take if someone twisted my arm :) I would die for this great room!
